Why Men Are Never Depressed!

My Sister sent this to me and I thought I would share!
Men Are Just Happier People . What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. A wedding dress is $5,000 but a Tux rents for $100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend. Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades! You only have to shave your face and neck. You can play with toys all your life. Your belly usually hides your big hips. One wallet and one pair of shoes, one color for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache. You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes. No wonder men are happier.

Dictionary Time?

Who is it that defines what an addiction is?
Webster Say's this; "compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly : persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful"
Some people know that they have addictions others may not, and some may have habits that they think are o.k. but in all reality their habits are just as much of an addiction as an admitted addict.
What if you don't have withdraw symptoms that are easily seen? like what you might get with heroin, alcohol or nicotine?
And who is it that decides what the tolerance level is? Society? The Church? your family?
Just looking for opinions.

Selah!

I have been reading The Cross examination of Jesus Christ. In the first chapter it's very graphic, so much that after reading about Jesus being whipped by a Flagrum, that I felt guilty, and the bottom line is I should! I put him there! Another great point that was made comes towards the end of the book, the Author, Randy Singer also does public speaking and a common question he asks is "how many in attendance have been Christians for over 5 years" as you might expect quite a few stand, while standing he asks "how many of you have memorized by heart, 20 scripture verses? that's just 4 verses a year for every year you have been a Christian" well just as you might expect, only a few are left standing! By now I feel not only guilty but ashamed, back in the 1st century Paul didn't carry a bible that he could flip open to the book of David and and start reading scripture! he didn't tell the crowds "we are going to be reading from the 23 psalm today! Paul knew scripture, he studied scripture and he knew it all by HEART!
So I look at myself today and wonder how am I going to make a difference when I do not have 1, and I mean 1, scripture verse memorized?
Selah!

What the heck!!

So..I'm taking Christina to the doctor today and I turn on WMUZ and it's the news hour with Bob Dutko show and he starts talking about Boulder High School and the Conference on World Affairs they had.
From what I have researched there was a 4 person panel that encouraged the students to have sex, and experiment with drugs, the reason..."your going to do it anyway"!
We are talking about mature adults telling 14 -17 year olds to have sex and take drugs responsibly! Now I don't know about you but this kinda upsets me to think that this type of forum could be set up in a PUBLIC school, with mandatory attendance by the students.
I don't have a problem with educating our kids on certain issues, but I think that the responsibility lies at home and not in school, are we as a society so lazy, that we can't take the time to tell our kids about sex and drugs?
Here is what distresses me the most, being a part of celebrate recovery, and having my own addictions, I can tell you that there are alot of hurting people out there, and I just don't think that this type of stuff is going to make it any better for the future of our kids.

T.M.D.R.B?

What do you get when you take a bunch of guys that haven't played music in a while and have never played together before? Tecumseh's Most Dangerous Recovery Band! We will be playing worship service for Newsong at the Civic or Center for the Arts as I'm now told, on Sunday the 20th.
Are we the next best thing since sliced bread? Noway dude, but we all have a heart for God and Worship and that's what it's all about!

TAPS

So I have never had a paranormal experience before, but I find shows about it interesting.
I have watched alot of stuff that seems way to made up, with special music right before the big "What was that thing" and then everybody jumps...boooooo...
But recently I have kinda got hooked on Ghost Hunters shown on the Sci-Fi channel, the basic premise for the show is that 2 guy's, Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes had paranormal experiences in the past and they wanted to learn more about the paranormal, so they founded TAPS.
Unlike most Shows, the members of TAPS go to locations to disprove hauntings, they do alot of debunking with the intent of, everything they cant explain might be paranormal.
If you like this sorta stuff give it a look...it's on Wednesday nights.

Ebay away!!

So..yesterday I decided to do it,My wife Christina as most of you know, just loves the Packers and Brett Favre. She saw the cover of the December 10th edition of SI and wanted it bad, so me being the good husband tried to find it for her, only one problem, collectors and Favre lovers alike gobbled up every copy around so I could not turn in to the night in shining armour that I wanted.
Well yesterday I thought, "hey I'll check Ebay" DUH!...so it was confirmed yesterday to be on it's way in the mail and she couldn't be more happy...dut du du dah...I am shining right now!
She also got a little surprise yesterday, a Tenant in our complex put a slightly used copy of the magazine in the drop box for her, and although I am ashamed to say my wife is sleeping with Brett Favre, It's true the magazine was put in her pillow case last night as she slept, kinda sick huh! Well you gotta love her enthusiasm, plus her love for the game of football is a plus for me too! I get to watch all of the football I want with no complaint's

This Year?

So I kinda set some goals for myself this year...1. Blog more 2. Read more 3. Study the Bible better 4. Pray more

Blogging more should be easier, like today, write a blog about blogging more.
Reading is something that I have definitely gotten away from, but I have two books going right now. The first is a book we are studying in Men's group...Coached By Jesus and the other is The Cross Examination of Jesus Christ. I really want and like to read books that have to do with the 1st Century and the beginnings of Christianity.
Studying the Bible better is a big thing, alot of people know what the Bible says but do they know what it means?
And last but not least prayer, which I lack in drastically (you can see that by the order that I put my goals) will only make things better.
Well lets see how I do!

Where's my other sock?

So here we are in the new year and even though we will encounter alot of new challenges and different things this year, I still find that one thing stays the same. The "Dryer Monster" yes you heard it, this dreaded monster who steals your personal belongings and does evil things with them.
I searched the web and there is very little information about this legendary beast who hides in the shadows of warmth and static cling, And although I have heard of this monster and witnessed his devilish acts since early childhood, I still have never seen him!
I am asking anyone with any info on this creature to contact me...help a brother save a sock will ya!
