It's Official !

So yesterday was the first softball practice of the season, and without doing anything strenuous, I popped my knee and now it looks like I will not partake in any games this year. (good thing that I took over as coach).
It was just a routine fly ball that I was going to make the cut-off on and as I planted to throw to the infield I hear the sound of....if you are making pasta and you have a big handful of spaghetti, slowly snap it in half......that was the sound.
So it was kinda O.K until I tried to get out of bed this morning and found out that I couldn't walk.
Anyway I got an Ice pack calling my name!

Poptarts

So I had to go to Kroger's to pick up milk and some cereal for Christina and I thought "I haven't had Pop tarts in a while".
So I go to the pop tart isle and it took me about 5 min. to find blueberry!
Now I don't know how or when it happened but there seems to have been a POP TART EXPLOSION when it comes to flavors.
I remember as a kid you had Blueberry, strawberry, cherry, chocolate, and everyones ( maybe not everyones) but my least favorite brown sugar cinnamon.
Now you can get like 30 different flavors, too many for me to even name.
Has this happened to all kid type stuff or just Pop tarts?
Am I so old that I have lost touch with the younger generation and the products marketed to them or am I just a hermit?
Why do I even care? Why am I even Blogging about it? Why?
Enough of that...hey If you stop by Kroger's you can pick up strawberries in a 1lb pack 3/$5.00. I think I'll go have a pop tart!!

Hmm.....

( The petition was filed under section 295 A of the Indian Penal Code, which makes it an offence punishable by three years in jail to "outrage" any group's religion with "deliberate and malicious intention." )

This was an actual story on Yahoo this morning, although it had to do with the wedding of Elizabeth Hurley I still found the ending to the article very interesting.
Just to think that there is a country where you can be jailed for offending someones religion.

If it was that way here in the good ole US of A we would really have an overcrowded prison population!

I say "You go India"!

Misconceptions

You know at men's group we are studying the wild at heart book and something that comes up from time to time is that Jesus is perceived as the nice guy, the healer, and even our own perceptions of him may be the same. Jesus came to earth as our savior, he healed the sick made the blind see, raised the dead you get my point.
But tonight on my way home from band practice, I was listening to the radio and they were talking about how Jesus was not the wimpy kind of figure we make him out to be.
If you think about the big burly masculine guy you might think of muscles and callused hands rough face etc.. then think about the less masculine guys and maybe it would be a hair dresser or lawyer with nice hands, suits, manicures etc..
So think about this, if you were to shake Jesus hand would he not have the hands of a carpenter?
Callused and rough, would his handshake be firm and self confident?
You could almost consider him a gentle Giant!
Now that's something to think about!

Stargazing

On the way home from Men's group I looked up and saw the Moon, it was a crescent and above it to the left was a bright star, I'm guessing one of the planets?
But seeing that made me also look around at the sky and all of the "light Pollution" that we have.

In our Sunday night group we just started studying the book of Matthew and how the Magi followed the star, and I couldn't help to think that it must have been a beautiful bright light, and it had to have stood out against the black sky.

There are so many Airplanes, cities that light up the skyline, radio towers, house lights, electrical towers that blink red etc.. do we ever truly get the pureness of all of the stars and lights that God put in our sky to see?

What next?

So I'm trying to get a Womens softball league together and there seems to be little participation from the male coaches in our Mens league with helping. So if anyone stops by, could you give me some Ideas of how to contact these women?

23:31

Well I didn't die, and it was much easier than I thought it would be...One big thing I have noticed is the sinus congestion that I use to wake up with every morning is clearing up.
Still mad about it though...someone should tell you, that they are addictive and you just cant stop after 23 years.

What a Great Day!

Although most Sundays are generally not real busy for us, yesterday was the exception.
Had to be at Church early to get set up to play, then went for a quick lunch after which it was off to the Bowling alley while Christina was at Rhonda's baby shower, then we got home just in time to clean up before group.
I think the best part of the day was Bowling with the Pudgeman...and although I hung in there in the first game it wasn't until the second that I overtook and finished with enough steam that the Master could not win. He needed to strike in the tenth and came up short!
Still not sure if he "Let me win"...Still it was good hangin out with him for a while..
Have a great week

Random Acts of Kindness Week?

I just saw a news article about the week of Feb 12-18 as being the random acts of kindness week. Well for one I had no idea that this even existed, and for two why didn't I hear about it before the 15th?

Now for point #3.....Have we gotten so bad as a society that we need 1 whole week out of a year to show others kindness, I mean really...are there people out there saying " you know I could help that person who has fallen, but It's not random acts of kindness week, so I wont"

I say this..try to show somebody kindness everyday if not everybody you come in contact with, your random act of kindness for the day might be that smile or hello you gave to a stranger!

Who'da Thought!

It wasn't that many years ago that my choice of life was way different, partying, hanging out at clubs, weekend drunks....you get the picture.
What is more surprising to me is that my choice in music has changed dramatically, don't get me wrong, I still have a great affection for Country music, but I have found a greater appreciation for Christian music as well.
Last night at practice a comment was made to the effect of, we might just practice for about 8 hours. Now I don't like doing many things for 8 hours but I thought man 8 hours of just playing praise music.....That would probably be the best 8 hours I have had in a long time.

Happy Mediums?

So I am listening to another radio show and they are talking about a certain family society boycotting stuff again, same ole same ole.
Seems they don't want Advertising promoted to certain groups of people, O.K. that's there stance and if that's the bus they want to ride who are we to stop them.
But I guess it made me wonder if there isn't some sort of happy medium when it comes to Religion?
Finish reading before you go HUH??? What did he say?
You see we have very Liberal religionists who may think that everything we do is O.K. and as long as you think you are right with God then your right with God.
Then you have the Extemists who will throw that flaming bible at'cha and send you to hell.
Why don't we instead of Judging people, get to know people, maybe that person who is accused of Homosexuality has never been introduced to the Lord?
Maybe that person who thinks that they can do there own thing and still get to heaven has never really understood the Bible.
I guess what I'm saying is maybe we should stop Preaching and start Teaching!
I think that once you really get to know someone it's easier to share the Lord with them and teach what the Gospel says, than to just start Accusing, Condemning, and Discriminating against them.
Accusing..Condemning..Discriminating...Isn't that what the first Christians had to Endure?

Just thinkin!!
