Well I didn't die, and it was much easier than I thought it would be...One big thing I have noticed is the sinus congestion that I use to wake up with every morning is clearing up.
Still mad about it though...someone should tell you, that they are addictive and you just cant stop after 23 years.

What a Great Day!
Although most Sundays are generally not real busy for us, yesterday was the exception.
Had to be at Church early to get set up to play, then went for a quick lunch after which it was off to the Bowling alley while Christina was at Rhonda's baby shower, then we got home just in time to clean up before group.
I think the best part of the day was Bowling with the Pudgeman...and although I hung in there in the first game it wasn't until the second that I overtook and finished with enough steam that the Master could not win. He needed to strike in the tenth and came up short!
Still not sure if he "Let me win"...Still it was good hangin out with him for a while..
Have a great week

Random Acts of Kindness Week?
I just saw a news article about the week of Feb 12-18 as being the random acts of kindness week. Well for one I had no idea that this even existed, and for two why didn't I hear about it before the 15th?
Now for point #3.....Have we gotten so bad as a society that we need 1 whole week out of a year to show others kindness, I mean really...are there people out there saying " you know I could help that person who has fallen, but It's not random acts of kindness week, so I wont"
I say this..try to show somebody kindness everyday if not everybody you come in contact with, your random act of kindness for the day might be that smile or hello you gave to a stranger!

Who'da Thought!
It wasn't that many years ago that my choice of life was way different, partying, hanging out at clubs, weekend drunks....you get the picture.
What is more surprising to me is that my choice in music has changed dramatically, don't get me wrong, I still have a great affection for Country music, but I have found a greater appreciation for Christian music as well.
Last night at practice a comment was made to the effect of, we might just practice for about 8 hours. Now I don't like doing many things for 8 hours but I thought man 8 hours of just playing praise music.....That would probably be the best 8 hours I have had in a long time.

Happy Mediums?
So I am listening to another radio show and they are talking about a certain family society boycotting stuff again, same ole same ole.
Seems they don't want Advertising promoted to certain groups of people, O.K. that's there stance and if that's the bus they want to ride who are we to stop them.
But I guess it made me wonder if there isn't some sort of happy medium when it comes to Religion?
Finish reading before you go HUH??? What did he say?
You see we have very Liberal religionists who may think that everything we do is O.K. and as long as you think you are right with God then your right with God.
Then you have the Extemists who will throw that flaming bible at'cha and send you to hell.
Why don't we instead of Judging people, get to know people, maybe that person who is accused of Homosexuality has never been introduced to the Lord?
Maybe that person who thinks that they can do there own thing and still get to heaven has never really understood the Bible.
I guess what I'm saying is maybe we should stop Preaching and start Teaching!
I think that once you really get to know someone it's easier to share the Lord with them and teach what the Gospel says, than to just start Accusing, Condemning, and Discriminating against them.
Accusing..Condemning..Discriminating...Isn't that what the first Christians had to Endure?
Just thinkin!!

Sick!!
I think I have finally had it with self rightious, I'm better than you, your gonna Burn in hell because you don't take every word of the bible literal Christians!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
The reason our soldiers are getting killed is because God is punishing us(USA) for our part in the War in Iraq. (not my words there's)
If you Dont AGREE with them, then you obviously have never opened a Bible!(Again not my words)
I am probably the most disouraged I have ever been in my Christian Walk, and I am literally sick of these people, sick of there translations, sick of how they literalize everything that fits the message they are pushing for the moment, its sickening, disheartening, and at times appauling!
And Im sick of all of the MEDIA attention that they get.
Dont Be a homosexual, dont drink , dont gamble, dont stumble because we aint gonna be there to help you up!!!
But If you are a PERFECT God fearing, throw your flaming BIBLE at the sinners type person we like ya!!
Ladies and Gentlemen let me tell you something, I have never and will never meet a PERFECT human being. If you have let me know I want to meet them.
So here are a few LITERALS I believe as fact,
1.do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2.woe to you, teachers of the law and pharisees, you hypocrites! YOU SHUT THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IN MENS FACES, you yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.
3.WE ALL FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD.
I will end with this, How are the Flame throwing Christians spreading the Good News of salvation through Christ?

Who am I?
I know this person who has lived his life with a lot of regrets of his past.
Is he proud of the life he has led?
Did he do all that he could for his family when he had the chance?
Did circumstances beyond a child's understanding break up his family?
Does he still walk in the shadow of his doubts, that keep him awake at night and wander through his mind like bad dreams?
Will he ever get any peace and be able to accept the fact that his life was meant to turn out the way it has?
We talk and get to see each other from time to time and he has asked for forgiveness from the ones he hurt, some have forgiven, some still hold on to the hurtful memories and wont let go.
He has asked God for forgiveness and that was a great thing, He now is a Christian and is doing great things for the Lord!
But I still seem to think that he hasn't asked one person for forgiveness..........Himself.
So to answer my Question,
Is it my Father? Or is it Me? Is it You?
How can we forgive each other if we can't forgive Ourselves?

Questions & More
Got into a conversation yesterday about ghosts, spirits and Sylvia Browne.
I made a comment about have you ever seen a ghost?
The question asked back to me was, have you ever seen God?
My reply was do you really want to get into this conversation with me?
No, he replied.
Somehow I feel like I lost an opportunity to minister to this person , but how do you talk to someone about God when they don't want to hear it?
Next question do you think psychics are gifted from God or is it all made up?
If so, do any use there talents to spread the word of God?

2nd Chance?
I was listening to a radio show today and the topic was, after we die, for those who have not accepted Jesus, do we get another chance to accept Jesus and get into heaven.
From what I understand this is a belief that has been getting some attention from some Christians who believe this will happen.
So here is the scenario:
You die, you meet God and Jesus is at his right hand, you finally say
1. Ohhh i guess I was wrong.
2. I wasn't told you were real.
3. I thought it was just some made up story that had been told for ages.
You say I accept you now,
And the belief is that Jesus or God says O.K. we understand, you go to Heaven now.
I personally do not believe that this is going to happen, I think the Bible speaks plainly on this
subject, so why would other Christians believe this?
Just thought it was an interesting subject.

Rome does it again!!
Well I think I have just read it all, It seems that an Italian court will rule on weather Jesus ever existed or not! Read it on Yahoo News.
Now Among other questions that I am going to ask, How is it that MAN can make a ruling against or for the fact that JESUS ever walked on this earth?
So I have been on the "net" looking for what I could find , and it indeed seems that there was
to my understanding, documents from Roman history that mention the "Chrestus or Christus",
and talk about his crucifiction by Pontias Pilate. Also the "Flames of Rome" use this reference as a factual account.
I did say Roman History, Italy, Rome, HMMM...
So I sit here and I know what I've read about 1st century persecution and I wonder if it could return today?
Are we as modern day" Free Christians" going to start seeing persecution for our beliefs?
There are still parts of the world that you will be killed for Christian beliefs?
Can't you almost feel the change and if you are paying reel close attention to our society, you can see the fight between good and evil daily.
Are we going to turn into an "Atheistic Society" where we are no longer free to speak/teach our beliefs?
In my lifetime? Don't know. In Adam's? Maybe.

Subtle Coincidences?
O.K , so I'm finished with the book and thinking about all of the terrible things that happened to early followers of Christ, thrown to the starved lions, wild dogs, bears, beheaded, stretched until they are pulled in two, and those are just a few physical things that happened to them. Oh did I mention set on FIRE and Crucified!
There was also the discrimination of not being able to trade your goods and services to provide for your family.
The Roman Empire told you what you would do, who you would follow and how you would do it!
And if it "felt good" ehh go ahead and do it!
So I'm thinking do the punishments fit the crime? If you lived in the barbaric first century they do, but if you live in the 21st century?
Between the 1st and 21st centuries punishments for crimes have lightened somewhat, there are still some parts of the world where Christians today are still murdered and to be a follower of Christ is a very dangerous thing to do.
So you say, but we live in America we don't have that stuff here!
Lets look...
1st century.."There is not 1 supreme God.
21st century..."We were not created by intelligent design, it was evolution".
1st century..You can have any God you want, but this Christ, a man, is not the savior of our world.
21st century...You can have any God you want..But do not teach us or our kids about your God or Christ, its not Scientific.
1st century..Ohh your a Christian, You people are not good for the Empire!
21st century...Ohh your a Christian, You people are trying to run the World!
1st century..You can't talk about God and Christ here or you will die!
21st century...You can't talk about Religion here it makes people uncomfortable, so take this a your verbal warning next time it will be a write up!
There are Probably more examples I could give but you get the point, I hope.
Although we live in different times in History, the punishment isn't the same but The "Empire" still doesn't want to hear about your God, OUR GOD!!Christianity is Stronger than ever, but I also see Proponents to Christianity getting stronger and more verbal also.
If Paul had the media coverage of today he would have been ecstatic,I believe he wanted to be prosecuted By the Roman Empire not only to have Christianity recognized by the Empire as a Valid Religion, but for the "MEDIA" he would get, which was the best way to spread the word in those times.
So what I hope is that by reading this you start HEARING what is going on around you,
We have an Awesome opportunity that those of the fist century did not,
and If we become like Paul and have the Excitement he had, just think of what we could do!!

Thinking out loud
I am really into this book we are using in bible class to read while studying the book of Acts,
its called The Flames Of Rome, if you don't have a copy, dude get one.
The Chapter that I read on how Christianity started and how hard it was for those disciples to spread the word was very intriguing, it told of Pauls house arrest in Rome for two years, and told of Christians meeting in houses to worship and spread the word, I cant put it down!
It tells of the very beginning of Christianity and how People were being beheaded because of a
new religious cult that wasn't approved by Rome.
This Book takes you back to the first century!
So Here we are today, we can freely for the most part, speak, worship, pray, etc.. Without getting beheaded, But do we have the same passion as those 2000 years ago?
I think we as a Church at Newsong are going in the right direction as are many other Churches, Praise God!
But If we didn't have the freedom, like those of the first century, would we still be Passionate about our religion?
Even to Death?
Thank you Pastor Hawkins for opening my mind with this exciting book!
Thank you God for Pastor Hawkins!
